The origins of Barceló rum date back to 1929, when Julián Barceló arrived in the Dominican Republic to produce a rum that would go down in history as the best in the world.


Imperial Porto Cask
Barceló Imperial Porto Cask is part of Barceló’s exceptional Rare Blends Collection. All the precious Imperial rums are first carefully stored in ex-bourbon American white oak casks. After blending, the Porto Cask undergoes further ageing (cask finishing) in traditional Tawny 10 Port casks to achieve the complexity and unique flavour that characterises this extravagant rum liqueur.

Imperial Onyx
The result of the finest selection of rums aged for up to ten years in high quality toasted oak barrels and then filtered through authentic semi-precious black onyx stones. This gives Imperial Onyx a unique character with intense and deep notes.

Imperial 40 aniversario
In 1980, the Dominican Republic’s first premium rum was born – Barceló Imperial. Every ten years we dedicate a special ode to this historic milestone, which we celebrate with the Barceló Imperial Premium Blend, now celebrating its 40th anniversary. Only 15,000 bottles of this limited and numbered rum are produced worldwide.
The result of the best alcohol from the company’s own Dominican sugar cane, it is matured for up to ten years in American oak barrels and then for a further two years in French oak barrels of different toasts. After this double maturation, the master blender leaves the complex blend to rest for a further 10 years in French oak casks to create a rum with exceptional organoleptic characteristics.

Imperial
Made from the precious nectar of the best selection of Dominican sugar cane from our plantations, Barceló Imperial is the result of the dizzying dream of maturing our best rum reserves. Naturally aged for up to a decade in the best climatic conditions, Barceló Imperial is an exquisite harmony of colour, aroma and flavour for the senses. Barceló Imperial is the perfect synonym for respecting the passage of time and the traditions of those who know rum.

Gran Añejo
The fruit of a perfect blend of the finest Dominican rums, patiently aged for up to six years in ex-Bourbon oak barrels. Barceló Gran Añejo is a rum rich in depth and balanced nuances.

Gold Añejado
Naturally matured for up to two years, the result is a rum blend that is ideal for preparing the best cocktails. Delicate rum with an exquisite taste and amber colour. Naturally matured in American oak barriques that previously contained bourbon.

Blanco Añejado
Matured for up to two years in oak barriques, the result is a shiny and crystalline rum obtained after careful filtering with charcoal. Ideal for making the best cocktails

Barcelo Organic
Barceló Organic is as unique as its origins. The sugar cane used to make the rum grows untamed and completely organically on just 1.5 square kilometres. It is free of chemical additives and aged for five years.
The environmentally friendly packaging is made from bagasse, a plant fibre obtained from the pressing of sugar cane.
Barceló Organic is an exclusive rarity, with only 39,670 cases produced worldwide each year. This limited production is the result of a consistent commitment to sustainability in accordance with the company’s own RB360 sustainability code, certified by Société Générale de Surveillance.
