Ouzo from Plomari – an unadulterated taste experience. Ouzo, a world-famous Greek drink that gets its characteristic cloudiness from the addition of water, belongs to the general category of aniseed-based alcoholic beverages. Ouzo is traditionally and exclusively produced in Greece. Anise, fennel, star anise, the unmistakable mastic from Chios and various other aromatic herbs from Greece, as well as excellent distillation skills and expertise, give ouzo its unique quality. One of the most important ouzo producing areas is the island of Lesvos, particularly the village of Plomari, which is famous for producing a particularly aromatic and fine variety. The characteristic taste and aroma of ouzo are due to its special production method, which has remained unchanged over the centuries and is a ceremonial process full of secrets and mysteries.<\/div>\n
